When Cindy’s father died, he left the family fortune to Cindy’s stepmother, with the condition that she raise Cindy until she turned twenty-one. Cindy knew, however, that her stepmother had slowly poisoned her father, and she could expect nothing but slow torture at her stepmother’s hands. Night after night, she was locked in a room with nothing but a fire for comfort. One night, she stole a knife from her cruel stepmother and swore she would use it on herself if only to prevent her stepmother from inheriting her father’s fortune. But before she could act, the fire seemed to speak to her, giving her power over heat and flame. When her stepmother next tried to beat her, Cindy retaliated with scorching and deadly force. Cindy then began a new life, using her powers to avenge those who had been preyed upon by criminals and other abusers.

In 1942, Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies animator Tex Avery moved over to MGM studios and created a world of characters that redefined animated insanity. Wolf, Red Hot Riding Hood, Screwball Squirrel, and Droopy oozed with more personality than any of their cookie-cutter contemporaries. Now, more than 50 years later, Dark Horse Comics is proud to bring Avery’s multi-dimensional creations of madness to comic books!
