    The popularity of the A Nightmare on Elm Street film series has led to several comic book series published by Marvel Comics, Innovation Publishing, Trident Comics, Avatar Press and WildStorm Productions. After the success of Freddy vs. Jason and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake film in 2003, New Line Cinema created their “House of Horror” licensing division which licensed the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise to Avatar Press for use in new comic book stories, the first of which was published in 2005. In 2006, Avatar Press lost the license to DC Comics imprint, WildStorm Productions who has since published several new stories based on the franchise.

Connecting it more to the DC Universe, the series established that Angel O’Day is actually the half-sister of Dumb Bunny from the Inferior Five and Sam the Ape is revealed to be the grandson of Flash enemy and Gorilla City leader Gorilla Grodd.

    The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a comic book miniseries by Japanese manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori based on the game of the same name. It appeared in Nintendo Power beginning in January 1992 and ran for 12 issues, ending in December 1992. It was later published as a graphic novel in 1993. Many portions of the game were omitted, and several new story segments were added to “preserve the elements of surprise and add to the dramatic flow. Several new characters are introduced, most prominently Roam, Epheremelda, the librarian of Kakariko, and an unnamed boy who is friends with Sahasrahla.
